I have long thought about recycling a pair of old jeans with several projects. But as always, there are other projects ahead this one, or with so many half done, that do not allow yourself to start another one without finishing any of those on going …
But this time, I have proposed myself starting with the easiest onehitthis time I decided, though, by the simplest Texan project: a basket. I’ve worked again with jeans for me sewing an apron (in fact it was my first Rums), but was still a reluctance to work with such a heavy fabric and true objection to the needle breakage during processing …Pero está vez que esta vez me he decidido, eso sí, por el proyecto tejano más sencillo: una cesta. Ya había trabajado otra vez con unos vaqueros para hacerme un delantal de costura (de hecho fue mi primer RUMS), pero seguía teniendo cierta reticencia a trabajar con un tejido tan grueso y cierto reparo a las posibles roturas de aguja durante la elaboración…
Al final ha sido más el miedo preconcebido que la realidad y además no se tarda nada en hacerla. Os recomiendo el tutorial de “Threading my way”, aunque yo también lo he acabado a “my way” (mi manera).
¿Y para qué quería una cesta tan cuca? pues para tener un sitio donde poner las pinzas del balcón que siempre tengo que ir a buscarlas al otro cesto y me da mucha rabia… ¡¡¡¡La próxima vez que tendamos en el balcón qué contenta voy a estar!!!!
